Taliban is a group like any other group.

Our allegiance to them should be related to their commitment to Islam. if they are truly committed, we should give them our support. but if they are not committed or they are deviant or committing terrorist attacks and killing Muslims, we should abhor them and not support their evil cause.

One should be careful as not all the news we hear from BBC or CNN are true.

A brother asked me a quaint about the photo of Bin Ladin saying that he doesn’t represent Islam.  It is me Assim Alhakeem who post on my Facebook page and no one else. As for the post you mentioned, Sheikh Osama Bin Ladin was a great leader and a Mujahid when he was fighting the Soviets in Afghanistan in the eighties. This is when all the scholars used to say good things about him and encourage people to send their donations to him to help the Mujahideen. But when he started giving Takfeer to the Muslims and saying that the Saudi rulers are Kafir and that the scholars such as Ibn Bazz and Ibn Othaimeen were corrupt scholars, and when he praised the terrorist attacks that happened in Riyadh and Al Khobar on Saudi Arabia soil and Muslims were killed, and when he asked the Saudi security forces to support the terrorist and to hide them, only then: the scholars said that his identity was revealed and that he was deviant and had gone astray.  He is still a Muslim but his Aqeedah is not in accordance to Ahlu Sunnah as he is giving Takfeer to Muslims and killing them, may Allah forgive him. All of this is on tape and he bluntly confesses of these things proudly and without any hesitation. He has called so many times for killing the non Muslim civilians and supported discriminate killings even if that included innocent people, children, women and elderly. I, therefore, say that he doesn’t represent Islam as Islam doesn’t promote or agrees to such terrorist activities.  I also believe that one should say the word of truth even if this doesn’t go well with the ignorant people. The majority of Muslims are emotional but without knowledge. That is why it is difficult for them to evaluate people in the light of the Quran, Sunnah and the views of real scholars.  I know that a lot of the ignorant will say bad things and use foul language in commenting on this. This is an illustration of the knowledge and religious comment they have, if any! I write what I believe Allah will ask me about and not to please people. May Allah guide us to what pleases Him.
