Is a misyar marriage permisible?
Misyar marriage is forbidden unless the intention of both of them is sincere in wanting to make this a normal marriage with children and the husband providing for the house. If this intention was not there as in the case of the husband wanting to only enjoy a second wife without any trouble, this is forbidden as it is manipulating the reason of marriage.
Some men when their wives gain a lot of weight are turned off by that and they need a second wife who would fulfill their sexual desires, otherwise they would fall into sin. This may sound like a lame excuse but it can be true.
Unfortunately, some – so called men – would probably divorce their wives if they are under pressure and when they are required to pay off their debts to their wives or in laws. This is very cheap but some husbands are like this.
